Twice a week, City of Loudon sanitation crews run curbside trash pickup across town, and that small detail tells you a lot about this place. Loudon is a county seat of about 7,000 people on the Tennessee River, close enough to Knoxville for a commute and quiet enough that the lake sets the weekend schedule. This guide covers the practical side of the move: utilities, trash, your license and tags, schools, taxes, and the drive.

Loudon Utilities Board, known as LUB, provides electric, water, and natural gas from its office at 2360 Highway 72 North, 865-458-2091. LUB lists a $30 connection fee and a deposit of $0, $125, or $250 depending on credit. Call a week or two before closing so service is on when you get the keys.
Inside Tellico Village, the property owners association runs the water and sewer system, so you'll open that account with the POA. Electric service may still come from a separate provider. Ask the seller for recent bills to see exactly who serves the home.
Internet options vary by street, especially on wooded lake lots. Check providers by exact address before you buy if you work from home.
The City of Loudon runs twice-weekly curbside pickup, on a Monday and Thursday or Tuesday and Friday route, with a 32-gallon limit per can. Call city sanitation at 865-458-2033 to confirm your days. Outside city limits, Loudon County runs convenience centers, including the Loudon center at 300 Rock Quarry Road, open Monday through Saturday from 7 to 6. That site also takes household hazardous waste Monday through Wednesday from 9 to 2.
