Rural Metro's FAQ says the subscription isn't paid through property taxes and is priced by the home's square footage. Homes without one can be billed for a response, with Tennessee non-member charges starting at $1,800 per hour per fire vehicle, per Rural Metro. As of September 1, 2026, Rural Metro also adds a 3% fee for card payments. Call 800-624-5835 to sign up and get your price.

The county lists Ward Waste Solutions, Waste Connections, and Waste Management as residential curbside haulers, so check which ones serve your road. You can also use the free Powell Convenience Center at 7311 Morton View Lane. It's open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8 to 6 and Saturday from 7 to 3, and it's closed Wednesday and Sunday.
